ORASCOM

This project was presented to Orascom for the Citadel in Sahl Hashish, It was an ongoing project where they built something similar to a palace with many rooms for different services. It wasn't built yet and they still had a long way to go. When we took over this project, we wanted to simplify it. We created one room size template for a mass module, and spread it all around each room in a different position. We wanted to make the place more customizable to the clients and remove the sense of redundancy in the structure. This way the size is unified but each room is customized in a different way to fit the client whether its modern, classic, islamic, naturistic and so on. The approach most people take in distinguishing between a luxurious room and a standard room is to make the luxurious rooms bigger and the standard rooms smaller which doesn't make sense, since humans have a unified size. Our Approach was to set a standard size suitable for everyone and add luxury in nature. We set the luxurious rooms as standalone rooms. each room with its beautiful big garden. It's the same room but in a more luxurious environment. The standard rooms were the same size but in a more compressed environment, with no private gardens or green landscapes. This simplified the design for the contractor as he only has to create one size for all rooms, but the only difference is the location of each room.
