Featured Commission
Blom Head-quarter
Office · New Cairo, Egypt
Located within the dynamic Banking Sector of New Cairo, Egypt, the new facility for Bloom Bank establishes a commanding, contemporary corporate presence. The architectural massing is defined by a rigorous orthogonal grid that is deliberately interrupted at the primary corner to create a striking visual focal point. This focal element is composed of stacked, staggered, and cantilevered cubic volumes—resembling a deconstructed or pixelated mass—clad in dark charcoal panels that contrast sharply with the rest of the structure. The dynamic arrangement of these projecting boxes provides deep, recessed glazing and integrated under-lighting, emphasizing the structural depth and establishing a strong architectural identity. In contrast to the fragmented dark volumes at the corner, the primary building facades are wrapped in a systematic array of vertical white louvers. This rhythmic, repetitive treatment creates a clean, unified exterior while simultaneously acting as an effective passive shading strategy to protect the expansive glass curtain walls behind it. At the street level, the building is anchored by a highly transparent, double-height glass base that promotes a sense of openness and accessibility fitting for a major financial institution. The careful integration of these distinct architectural elements—the rigid vertical shading screens and the shifting, solid corner masses—results in a balanced, highly legible corporate headquarters.
